About Us

JockPharm is a social networking platform for MMA athletes. It was founded by Luis Mantilla. He has always been a huge fan of the sport since the first season of TUF came out. With much respect and admiration for the sport, Luis feels that MMA or the people involved in the sport, don’t get the recognition they deserve. Today, JockPharm aims to change that!

Luis Mantilla has background in MMA. He realized his passion when he was 12 as he started Kung Fu and soon after he got his black belt. Later on he  moved to kickboxing and became a National Champion.  When he moved to Finland in 2009, Luis trained at different gyms and attempted to compete in kickboxing. That’s when he realized it was a challenge to find fights without the right contacts. In every gym they had their own Facebook groups, and in those groups they would discuss all fight related topics — trainings, events, techniques. Due to getting so many different perspectives from combat sports athletes, the idea of JockPharm was born.

With this experience,  Luis also realized that there are many talented fighters out there that the world has no clue about. Mainly because they don’t know how to market themselves effectively or how to network, and others who don’t have the finances, knowledge or opportunities to work with a management agency.

“I WANT JOCKPHARM TO BE THE LINKEDIN OF MMA. I WANT OUR PLATFORM TO TEACH FIGHTERS ON HOW TO MARKET THEMSELVES EFFECTIVELY.”

The short term plan is to offer premium subscriptions for the fighters to be able to connect and contact management and sponsors directly. Luis also wants for users to showcase their events and competitions — so as the site evolves, so will its features.

Being based out of Finland, the MMA scene is still quite new, but rapidly growing in popularity. Working closely with members of the MMA community, Luis’ long term goal is to establish Finland’s first MMA agency. With JockPharm beginning to take off, the hope is to eventually get the platform to a place where fighters in under represented areas of MMA are able to be noticed.
