More and more people are beginning to see fighting in professional sports as a viable career that they can enjoy. However, in order to sustain a career, a person has to engage in profitable actions that will help sustain him or her financially. This surely can be challenging and might be overwhelming at first. There are several things that you can do if you want to make a profit as a professional fighter.
SPONSORSHIP
The first thing that you could do outside of your regular fighting and training schedule is finding sponsors that will be willing to help you out if you endorse them. Again, it’s a magical circle – if you aren’t successful and if you desperately need sponsors – then it will be a lot more difficult for you to get sponsors, and vice-versa. You could establish a presence on social media and, hopefully, a sponsor will come knocking on your door. In rare cases, you may even get a life-changing deal from a sponsor.
FIGHTING RECORD
If you are successful as a fighter – then everything else will fall into line. You will be getting more profitable fights against better fighters, hosted by more popular promotions. And your salary and royalties will go up. However, if you really wish to climb all the way to the top of the food chain and make millions of dollars by just fighting alone – you will need to climb to where the UFC’s top brass is at. And for this, you will really need to put your everything into every hour that you train; do it smartly and efficiently. Same goes for your fights, you have to give it all and make it interesting and exciting, don’t just stay in your comfort safe zone.
MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES
Chances are that you have some specialty in your martial arts background. Perhaps you’re a BJJ expert, a Kung Fu master or a Muay Thai guru. This knowledge will give you an opportunity to train other people as you train yourself. If you are feeling shy to charge, it is ok to do so! You are investing your time and sharing your skills and expertise, remember your value and your worth. Remember, the more popular you are as a fighter; the more people will come to you for martial arts classes.
There are several things that you can do as a fighter if you want to increase your income. Use your imagination and be creative. Definitely let us know if you have more tips. Fighting a career is not a very long one, so you have to have a smart and efficient approach. We hope that you will achieve a fantastic level of success and are victorious doing what you love and are passionate about!

I think what’s important for Sponsorships while you’re fighting on regional cards is leveraging your local businesses. They are going to show the most support vs. national brands early on in your career. Also, it’s okay to take product while you build your brand and they repost you on their social media platforms. But at some point, you should know your worth.
